I've seen news coverage and read online articles about how inappropriate the "topless, sexual" photographs are. I am disappointed that she apologized. However, I understand that she works for the Disney/ABC monopoly, which makes her somewhat of a puppet who has to keep a wholesome nonsexual image.
What really bothers me is the comments some people have posted implying that because she took some pictures with her back exposed she could be the next young female celebrity tragedy like Britney, Paris and Lindsey. How does her taking an artistic photograph drapped in material with her back showing imply that she could be the next drug addicted alcoholic teen celebrity gone too far?
It also bothers me that people sexualized the pictures of her with her father. Since when is it sexual for a daughter to lean on her fathers lap when they are both fully dressed? This is not an inappropriate picture. What's inappropriate is the perverted people who make it a sexual image in their minds! That's disgusting!
This country is led by conservative business people and media who want to keep women and artists oppressed. This isn't fair! If she was a boy who posed with his shirt off no one would be complaining! And she wasn't even topless.
This is sad. It's such a shame that people are so sick in their heads that they can't tell the difference between an artistic photo and soft porn.
Do you think that the media has made such a big deal about the pictures of Miley Cyrus because of our strong religious beliefs or because we live in a male dominated country of perverts?
When will these unfair judgements of women and artists end?
